Both my husband and I were throughly impressed with this book. While he didn’t know anything about it prior to reading, I did already know the ending but we were both equally intrigued and left with our jaws in the floor.I don’t want to give anything away, but Lou’s writing takes you on an emotional roller coaster; I had intense feelings of despising certain people and feeling sorry for others and just shaking my head during a lot of it wondering how some of this stuff could have happened. He brings the people in this book to life to the point that you really feel like you know them.I would highly recommend this book to not only people of the upper Midwest, but to anyone who has a passion for true crime and the justice/legal system. It was just the right length, taking about two evenings to read. He does a great job tying up the loose ends and answering all the questions I had in my head about the case. The author takes you step by step with so much detail, It kept me guessing until the end.. Having lived in MN, I had never even heard of this tragic story.. The investigation was so botched from the beginning, it started over 40 years of heartbreak for so many people, I am glad they finally have some closure.
