It has the perfect amount of banter, spice, and plot. And I loved all of the side characters! The friendships that were formed were amazing to read and it was a true found family! It was nice to read about college students that were actually mature for once. I loved Anastasia and how level headed she was. Even with having anxiety and a bit OCD with time management, her communication skills were impressive and something you don’t see much of in books. She was sweet, determined and had so much character growth throughout the book. And Nate is now one of my favorite MMCs! He was possessive, protective, sweet, always there for his friends, and he wasn’t afraid to apologize when he knew he messed up. And don’t let this cute cover fool you! Nate was a dirty talking “smex god”! I had to fan myself every time he said “good girl”! That man knows how to heat things up!This was a cute read that has moved to one of my top reads this year and has added to my hockey romance obsession! The characters were great it felt like a great story and not like it was trying to stand on sex scenes alone. It felt like the characters had depth and growth in the story that felt very true to the story with plenty of lighthearted moments. It felt like life with the upside, downs, surprises, toxic people, therapy, and surprise scares. Here is where the spoilers come in. This book had me so hooked, and i have read it twice and want to give 5 stars, but... then I read the epilogue. 2 to 3 years after the story finishes, he is a Stanley cup winner, and she wins gold in the Olympics. (Insert eye roll here) AND she is now very pregnant. It is so ridiculous and feels like it is just an epilogue that is for the readers to get a happy ever after. I loved the emphasis on the dedication of the characters to their fields. The epilogue would have been better sticking to their story and having it be them living together and working together and probably planning on getting married. The epilogue just made it seem like it is easy for anyone to get a Stanley cup, an Olympic gold medal, a husband, and a baby. ( In 3 years or less, doesn't that sound like a scam)Truly, I really loved the storyline, and the book was great, but that epilogue was ridiculous. I put this book off for a long time because I had never read a sports romance at the time and I didn’t think it would be something I would enjoy. I had also made the mistake of assuming it was a book that was way overhyped. Once I started reading sports romances, I decided it was time to read it. I cannot believe that I put this book off for so long! A thousand percent worth the hype!There were so many ups and downs and so much depth. The plot was perfection and it didn’t leave you questioning anything. You couldn’t ask for better chemistry between Nate and Anastasia. I loved both characters so much I didn’t want to part from them *insert teary eyed emoji* I loved that they each have their own story because they both have their own problems. It wasn’t all focused on just one thing, aka, each other. Their inner monologue was funny, relatable, and swoon worthy. And the side characters! I am obsessed with the fact that it isn’t solely focused on their relationship with each other, but their relationship with the team members and her best friend. I love how Stassie grows during the story, becoming more independent and more outspoken and really standing up for herself. I also really liked that she was an athlete, too, and the things she had to sacrifice for her sport.And the epilogue…chef’s kiss. The perfect way to wrap up the story. Since this is the first book in an ongoing series, I really hope we get Henry’s story next!
